Trounson, Ph.D., a world renowned stem cell researcher and now President of CIRM, California’s $3 billion stem cell funding agency formed after the passage of Proposition 71 in 2004, which plays a critical role in enabling basic scientific discoveries.
- Michael D. West, Ph.D., scientist, inventor, entrepreneur, and industry executive, founded several RM companies including Geron Corp. and is currently CEO of BioTime and Embryome Sciences, two companies in the stem cell field.
- Jeff Karan, a venture capitalist and investment banker, is a lead partner at Proteus Venture Partners, the leading VC in the RM field; Mr. Karan and his firm are responsible for enabling the best clinical stage RM companies to transform their research into new treatments.
